Its okay but geared more toward a college student who needs a spelling review rather than a younger elementary student who needs tips on spelling. The example words are "big" words. I wouldn't recommend it for parents who want there elementary students to spell better.

Useful but a little on the expensive side

I bought this book as I was considering the possibility of getting my cute little boy into the world of baby modeling and I want to know what I was getting myself into. When I received this book it is a little on thin side but it is still crammed with masses of information and helpful hints and tips. Personally this book helped me make the decision that I shall not be following this up as a career for my little one as although it is possible to do it anywhere not being in NY or LA or a couple of other big cities can really limit your chances. Also I am not too sure I want to be running here, there and everywhere. However it has addresses of agents etc and tips on what you need to be willing to do. I do however think that for the size of book the price could be halved, but I guess if your little one makes it big in the world of modeling it is a small price to pay. I would recommend this book to all who are thinking about this area for there kids.

Thirteen bucks for this?

Folks, this is more of a pamphlet than it is a book. It's 87 pages filled with large type and generous spaces between paragraphs and chapters. Remember when you were a kid and had to write a 20 page essay and you'd try to trick your teacher by making it look like 20 pages when it wasn't? That's exactly what this book is trying to do. I was going to return it to Amazon because I felt so cheated but I missed their 30 day grace period. The little information that this guide has is helpful but I felt the author could have added so much more to it. More personal insights on the business, more journal excerpts, etc. If you're serious about baby modeling and you've got $13 burning a hole is your pocket then by all means purchase this book. Otherwise, don't waste your money and buy something with a little more substance.

Important information for hiking Stein Valley

Recommended for anyone exploring Stein Valley. Some information is a bit dated, in particular the directions to the Blowdown pass trail head. From the paved road the turnoff is marked with a sign for Blowdown Creek. Follow the unpaved road until you reach a sharp left hand turn (less than a mile). There is a large sign indicating you are in a active logging area an to check in with the site manager. There were also logging equipment and parked trucks of logging workers. After contacting the site foreman/manager proceed to the RIGHT, past the sign. This is the road that leads past the old silver mine and to the parking area Gordon White talks of when entering via Blowdown . If you follow that sharp turn to the left you will in in a new logging area, not where you want to be. Road to the parking lot is in excellent shape, easy for two wheel drive cars. After the parking lot (just a wide spot in the road with a big log laid over to one side) the road quickly becomes more difficult, but passable with a sturdy 4 wheel drive. Few spots for an easy turn around though once you hit your limiting factor be vehicular, or nerves/common sense. Have FUN! This is excellent information, but always be thoughtful and use common sense. We hiked in June 10, 2013. The mile on either side of pass still had significant snow covering, but was passable. After about a two day hike there will be an unimproved campsite (just a fire pit and a few large rocks for sitting). It is next to a washed out bridge. We did not attempt to cross the stream and followed the newer trail leading upward. From there it is a easy day`s hike to an improved campsite (bear box, picnic table and toilet), but not an easy hike. We did not have time to go much further though.

Of corse this is a great book, but I am sure the newer version (not offered on Amazon) is much better.

About the Author

Arthur Slade was raised in the Cypress Hills of southwest Saskatchewan and began writing at an early age. He received an English Honours degree from the University of Saskatchewan, spent several years writing advertising and now writes fiction full-time. He is the author of the Canadian Chills series of books, Dust (which won the Governor General's award), Tribes, and Monsterology. He currently lives in Saskatoon.

Well done

Over the past year I have read all but one of Arthur Slade's books. This is the only non-fiction and it was a compelling read. I must admit, before reading this book, I knew very little about Diefenbaker, the man, the myths or the legend. This book explores all three aspects of the man's life and legacy. The book was very well written, it was compelling and I had a hard time putting it down. Though not a conservative myself, I found after reading this book that I had a much greater respect and appreciation for Diefenbaker.

Arthur Slade did an amazing job presenting a man, who is a legend in Canadian politics and history, in a way readers will appreciate and admire. The writing is excellent and the pace of the story great. It spans almost 85 years of history in less than 200 pages and yet you do not feel like there were major gaps. After reading this, as much as I love Slade's fiction, I can only hope he will try his hand at nonfiction again soon.

I would highly recommend this book for all musicians and songwriters. At first I was skeptical as I have read other books about marketing music on the internet. But this one was very detailed and showed all the steps involved, and pulled no punches about the need for discipline. Mark W. Curran covers all the bases, and even includes ways to promote your band offline and offline, so that your online sales will be increased. There are some great resources in the back, also, and the book includes detailed screen shots on how to perform marketing tasks and to set up a daily marketing schedule. Good show, very good book.

An excellent guide...

Even if this book goes a little far with some of the marketing ideas, it doesn't matter; it's throwing ideas around that you CAN take on board rather than must. More importantly the book is inspiring - for an independent musician it can be a depressing thing to face the fact that it can be hard to get your music out and sold. This book firmly states that you can do it, and then goes about explaining how to do just that.

Being based around the Internet, some of the details are outdated, for example some web services the author recommends are no longer available, though this is not an issue as there are alternatives - you just have to do a bit of searching.

What matters about this book are the ideas it puts forward to help the indie musicians get their music out to the world, and it does this spectacularly. Highly recommended read.
