About the Author
Diane Keefe is a professional Geriatric Care Manager who has a breadth of experience working with all kinds of different situations with older adults. Ms. Keefe had a mother who had Alzheimer's disease. She and her brother experienced what many families do when they have a family member with this debilitating disease. They were unprepared for the challenges ahead. After their mother passed, Ms. Keefe pursued a Masters in Gerontology and opened a practice to help older adults. She received her Care Manager Certified designation in 2009. Ms. Keefe is President of the Mid-East Area Agency on Aging Foundation. She speaks about dementia issues for the Alzheimer's Association and is a member of Breakthrough Coalition, a consortium of over 350+ agencies dealing with older adults in the St. Louis area. She is also a member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers. Ms. Keefe has always enjoyed writing. She got her first taste of writing as editor of her high school newspaper. She was a 2002 Independent Publishers Finalist for 'Daily Lifelines for Teens & Preteens', a contributing author in '7 Points of Impact' and has many more books in the pipeline.
