During Children's Moments at our church, our senior pastor, Rev. Bob Peters, described some of his family's adventures with their pet crow, "Johnny". About the Author
Linda R. Mariner is a retired teacher who has spent over 44 years working with children of all ages. Her teaching profession includes service at Waynesburg Central High School, the Children's Librarian At Eva K. Bowlby Library, Preschool Curriculum Development at Penn State University main campus for 7 summers. She also helped develop and taught in a Vocational School's Child Care and Development/ Preschool. Later(with a partner, Lori A. Duer) she started, directed, and taught in a private preschool/kindergarten (Greene County Wee Care,Inc.)for 11 years. She was also the Arts and Crafts Director for Waynesburg Borough Recreation Board for 16 years. Currently, Linda volunteers with the Reading Partners Program at Waynesburg Central Elementary School. In addition, she volunteers in churches, libraries, schools, and her local hospital. Linda lives in Waynesburg, PA with her husband, John. They have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. Johnny and the Preacher

This is a beautiful story for children. The graphics are fabulous and it is a fun story. We bought a copy for each of our five adult children for their enjoyment and to be read to our grandchildren. In a world so full of violence, it is refreshing to have a story about that unique conection between human being and members of the animal kingdom. I highly recommend this as a great bedtime story for children anywhere. It reminds us that we are all God's creatures and thatoccasionall we experience a love connection with unusual animals.
