La Strada is an autobiographcal account of the author's travels from shortly after his birth to the present. They begin in the United States, Canada and Mexico and include his extensive trips through eastern and western Europe and Israel. Included are accounts of his hitch hiking to New York City from Detroit when he was 17, the Six Day War, two months behind the Iron Curtain, the opening of the Berlin Wall, the collapse of Communism in Eastern Europe, biking across the Alps of Switzerland, and skiing the slopes of Zinal, Switzerland. Cars, trains, boats, planes, walking, skiing, and biking are part of the saga that makes La Strada unique. Though the book is written with a slight touch of satire it concludes on a serious note with examples of environmental degradation that the author observed in the European Alps and in the province of British Colombia, Canada. A Gripping Tale of Love Amidst WW II

A young American crashes in Northern Italy in the Second World War, and is nursed back to health by the woman who becomes his lover. The pages will turn quickly as you read this gripping tale. The descriptions of the various settings are astounding; for those who have travelled through the regions described in the book, they will also recognize these descriptions to be true-to-life.
First Rains of Autumn is a story of transformation and renewal--a vivid reminder of the manner in which the insanity of war can magically raise one's experience of life and love to the highest levels.
